Issue

  • Fail to mount XFS filesystem with noacl option
# mount  -t xfs -o noacl /dev/xfsvg/xfslv  /mnt/xfs 
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/mapper/xfsvg-xfslv,
       missing codepage or helper program, or other error

       In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so.
  • Fail to mount XFS filesystem when specifying noacl option in /etc/fstab
file: /etc/fstab 
...
/dev/xfsvg/xfslv  /mnt/xfs  xfs  noacl,defaults  0 0  
...

# mount -a
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/mapper/xfsvg-xfslv,
       missing codepage or helper program, or other error
