[RHEL 6] - Anaconda says it can't find packages that are on DVD

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When installing with kickstart two boxes stating:
Missing Package (this is a box)

You have specified that package 'xfsprogs'
should be installed.  This package does not exist.
Would you like to continue or abort this installation?
Abort IgnoreAll Continue
  • Note: This is also happening with the 'perl-Net-Telnet' package
  • Choosing continue doesn't cause any problems, except that the xfsprogs and perl-Net-Telnet packages are not installed.
  • Tried removing 't' from perl-Net-Telnet and adding a '-' to perl-Net-Telnet (perl-Net-Telnet-) but neither of these worked.
  • Both rpms are on the DVD.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 and 6.1
  • Kickstart install from DVD
