  • Not able to subscribe Satellite to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 base channel, it throws "Error Class Code: 71"

Resolution

  • Verify that the subscription providing access to the channel is active into the account, and if that channel is available in the Red Hat Network or Red Hat Satellite web UI

If system is registered on Red Hat Satellite:

  • Verify that the channel has been synced on the Satellite with satellite-sync
  • If the system is registering to a sub-organization, verify that entitlements for this channel have been allocated to the organization, as documented in Synced channels are not visible in Satellite web UI

If trying to subscribe Red Hat Satellite to RHEL7

  • Red Hat Satellite is supported only on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 or 6. So it is not recommended to subscribe Satellite to RHEL7 channel.
