Getting an error when trying to install jdk1.6_30 on an NFS share

Issue

  • While trying to install jdk1.6_30 on an NFS share I get the following error:
[root@app001 backup]# ./jdk-6u30-linux-i586.bin
Unpacking...
Checksumming...
Extracting...
UnZipSFX 5.50 of 17 February 2002, by Info-ZIP (Zip-Bugs@lists.wku.edu).
unzipsfx:  cannot find myself! [./install.sfx.8920]
Failed to extract the files.  Please refer to the Troubleshooting section of
the Installation Instructions on the download page for more information.
  • Errors exist when attempting to install a package over nfs with a tool called "unzipsfx"
