How do I align my LVM physical volume for best performance?

Issue

  • Our storage vendor recommends the disk should be partitioned with starting sector of 64 or 128 (divisible by 64).
  • When directly using pvcreate command on a disk/lun, What will the disk layout be? what will be starting sector?
