NIS/YP not picking up UID < 500 after RHEL 5.x Upgrade
Issue
- NIS map isn't populating with users with UID < 500
- MINUID is set to 20
- MINGID is set to 200
- Changing a users UID to 500+ inside the NIS hosts /etc/passwd and running ypmake puts that user into the maps.
- Appears to be only occuring at sites after an update to RHEL5u5.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5u5
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5u6
- RHEL acting as a NIS server
- Recent package upgrade including the ypserv package
