Logical volumes not seen by other nodes after adding or removing in 5.x cluster

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Logical volumes do not propagate to other nodes in the cluster.
  • lvcreate or lvremove on one node of a cluster does not propage to other nodes.
  • Nodes of the cluster have out of sync logical volumes.  Issuing 'clvmd -R' does not solve the problem.
  • LVM display commands such as lvs, or vgdisplay do not display a new logical volume unless the volume group is specified on the command line.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (with the High Availability and Resilient Storage Add Ons)
