JBoss EAP 6 management plug-in does not save connection properties provided with creation of new data source resource

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.1.2
  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 6 management plug-in
  • Creation of a non-XA datasource resource using Connection Property property-name and value pairs

Issue

  • Connection properties silently discarded
  • Custom property-name:value pairs entered in Connection Property interface are not reflected in datastore
  • Custom parameter/value is not in resource configuration after datasource creation
  • Connection properties are discarded when datasource is created

Resolution

  • This has been identified in Red Hat Bugzilla 1023597 and will be addressed in a future release of the JBoss EAP management plug-in for JBoss ON.

  • Until the issue is resolved, you will need to set the datasource connection properties after the datasource has been created. Please note that this will require a restart of the JBoss EAP server.

  • This issue does not impact XADataSource resource types.

Root Cause

  • The plug-in fails to submit the connection properties with the datasource creation request. For more details on this issue, please see Red Hat Bugzilla 1023597.
