service mysql55-mysqld.service failed to start after reboot

Issue

  • Service mysql55-mysqld.service did not start after system reboot.
  • Unable to start it manually too. Below logs observed in journalctl -xe | grep -i mysql55
chown: cannot access ‘/var/log/mysql55-mysqld.log’: No such file or directory
chmod: cannot access ‘/var/log/mysql55-mysqld.log’: No such file or directory
mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /opt/rh/mysql55/root/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid ended

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7
  • mysql55-mysql (shipped with scl)
