Why does Pacemaker not trigger a failover when a child HANA process is manually killed, fails or crashes?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When we manually kill the index server of SAP HANA in the PRIMARY/Master node, Pacemaker does not trigger a failover of the resource to the SECONDARY/Slave node
  • Why doesn't Pacemaker detect a failure when a HANA internal process (such as the index server) fails or crashes?

Environment
