Permission denied while creating files or subdirectories inside /home

Issue

• The autofs configuration works fine but when tried to create a file or directory in the parent directory of the mount-point, it fails with the "Permission denied" error

• While trying to create a local mount point for testuser, permission denied error is observed

# mkdir /home/testuser
  mkdir: cannot create directory ‘/home/testuser’: Permission denied
