Which user role provides organization admin access on Red Hat Satellite 6 WebUI to a non-admin user?

Environment

Issue

  • I want to access everything present under one specific organization using a non-admin user.
  • I want to assign admin rights to a non-admin user for a specific organization only.
  • Non-admin users shall not access other organizations except one particular organization only.

Resolution

  • The following role should be assigned to a non-admin user to have organization admin access on Red Hat Satellite WebUI:

    1. Navigate to Satellite WebUI→ Administer → Users
    2. Click on the user that you want to modify.
    3. Click the Locations tab, and select a Location if no location is assigned.
    4. Click the Organizations tab, and assign the required organization. The user can access the assigned organization only.
    5. Click the Roles tab and select role as Organization admin to assign to the user from the Roles list and click Submit.
    6. Please make sure no other roles are assigned to the user except for the Organization admin role.
