Cannot create HTTP Proxy with special charecters mentioned inside proxy username or password in Red Hat Satellite 6.7

Issue

  • While creating HTTP proxy with a proxy password having special characters e.g. [ ] @ , the test connection always fails with the following error and the password gets rejected upon submission.

    bad password component
    
  • The same problem persists when the proxy username is a domain user and having special characters e.g. @ \ .

    bad component(expected userinfo component or user component): user@domain
