Issue

  • Ping of own or other IP Addresses fail with EPERM error:
# ping 192.0.2.1
PING 192.0.2.1  (192.0.2.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted
ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted
ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted
ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted
  • sendmsg() failed and return with EPERM "Operation not permitted"
  • DNS intermittent failure seen due to sendmsg() with EPERM
