Issue

  • Daily, at 00:10, pmlogger.service unit fails and print the following messages:

    pmlogger: Starting pmlogger ...
systemd: Can't open PID file /run/pcp/pmlogger.pid (yet?) after start: No such file or directory
systemd: New main PID XXX does not belong to service, and PID file is not owned by root. Refusing.
systemd: New main PID XXX does not belong to service, and PID file is not owned by root. Refusing.
systemd: pmlogger.service never wrote its PID file. Failing.
systemd: Failed to start Performance Metrics Archive Logger.
systemd: Unit pmlogger.service entered failed state.
    systemd: pmlogger.service failed.

  • Then pmlogger.service unit restarts automatically
