Failure in ImageGC causing application pods to be Evicted

Issue

• An application node fails with ImageGC on a regular-basis, thus causing running application pods to be Evicted.

• Node description and node logs show the following error:

  image@sha256 (must force) - container <container_id> is using its referenced image <image_id>, rpc error: code = Unknown desc = Error response from daemon: conflict: unable to remove repository reference
