Booting system with 'kernelcore' parameter causes numactl/numastat to report incorrect memtotal size

Issue

  • kernelcore boot option causes the /sys/devices/system/node/nodeX/meminfo to report incorrect MemTotal.
  • numastat/numactl is reporting more memory than the system has after booting with kernelcore boot parameter.
  • numactl --hardware shows incorrect memtotal size of a node when booted with kernelcore parameter.
