Content host status in Red Hat Satellite WebUI shows unentitled or registration fails with error 'no enabled repositories'

Issue

  • On the Red Hat Satellite Web UI, status of the content host shows unentitled.

  • Content host is properly registered to the Red Hat Satellite Server but still not able to enable some repositories already added and enabled in the Activation key.

    # subscription-manager repos --list
    This system has no repositories available through subscriptions.
    
  • Similarly, the following error can also be observed while registering a host to Red Hat Satellite 6:

    Error: There are no enabled repositories in "/etc/yum.repos.d", "/etc/yum/repos.d", "/etc/distro.repos.d".
    Host initial configuration failed
