[RHEL] Choosing a SCAP security profile from graphical installer may not be possible due to installer limitations

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When choosing a SCAP profile from the graphical installer, the installation can not proceed. This is due to filesystem requirements of the SCAP profile. While a manual creation of the necessary filesystems by going back to the storage dialog is possible, the required SCAP mount-options can not be set.
  • After selecting a SCAP profile, missing filesystem separations lead to errors caused by the profile. The storage dialog does not provide any information which filesystems need to be separated and a selection of the output created by SCAP is not possible. The report additionally is shown incomplete. This introduces very time consuming jumps from the SCAP report to the storage dialog in order to create the missing filesystems.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x manual installation
