Configuring crashkernel for kdump on s390x in RHEL 6.1 or earlier

I am trying to configure kdump on s390x and the crashkernel doesn't get recognized.

I am having the same issue configuring kdump on RHEL6 s390x -- even though I've specified a crashkernel memory amount, run zipl, and have kernel-kdump installed, the log says "kdump: No crashkernel parameter specified for running kernel"
