How to change idle timeout for OCP commands on the load balancer

Issue

  • TCP connections for streaming oc commands get closed after some seconds seconds (oc commands like oc rsh, oc exec, oc logs, oc debug or oc port-forward) in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.

    E0129 13:48:58.595874   28317 portforward.go:233] lost connection to pod
    
  • The oc debug connection is finished after some times:

    timed out waiting for input: auto-logout
    
  • Streaming idle connection timeout is already correctly set as per solution 6962970: How to change idle-timeout for oc commands in OCP 4

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP)
  • External load balancer (like HAProxy or a LoadBalancer service on a cloud with LBaaS)
