rsyslog error due to SELinux

Issue

  • Built a new Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 test server and running into a SELinux issue:
rsyslogd: cannot create '/user/log/test.log': Permission denied
  • SELinux prevents loging into non-root filesystem:
setroubleshoot: SELinux is preventing /sbin/rsyslogd from append access on the file /user/log/test.log. For complete SELinux messages. run sealert -l 1459148d-5efe-49a6-adaa-6b6d06676715
