ssh public key authentication fails on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Copying the `~/.ssh directory to another machine is all that was needed in RHEL 5 to setup public key authentication, but fails in RHEL 6 to work.
  • Adding the keys using ssh-copy-id does not work with RHEL6.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 as ssh server
  • ssh Public key authentication
  • SELinux is enabled.
