jboss_init_redhat.sh script does not stop correctly in RHEL 6

Issue

  • jboss_init_redhat.sh doesn't stop jboss and says it is not running:
$ /etc/init.d/jboss stop
No JBossas is currently running

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
