cmirrord reports error "cpg_dispatch failed: SA_AIS_ERR_LIBRARY" or "cpg_dispatch failed: 2" in a RHEL 6 Resilient Storage cluster with clustered mirrror LVM volumes

Issue

  • Cluster nodes are generating SA_AIS_ERR_LIBRARY errors from cmirrord
Feb  2 16:42:49 node1 cmirrord[3682]: cpg_dispatch failed: SA_AIS_ERR_LIBRARY
  • When a storage device in a clustered volume group fails, only some of the mirrored volumes on it successfully repair and recover, and there is an error "cpg_dispatch failed: 2" from cmirrord

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 with the Resilient Storage Add On
  • lvm2-cluster
    • locking_type = 3 in /etc/lvm/lvm.conf
    • One or more volume groups with the clustered attribute set
  • cmirror
    • One or more logical volumes in a clustered volume group are mirrored
