$REMOTEHOST is set to NULL on the local machine in csh and tcsh in RHEL 6
Issue
- $REMOTEHOST is set empty on the local machine in csh and tcsh
-
Its expected that if tcsh can't determine the remote host (or that the user is not actually remote) that it wouldn't set this variable at all.
$ env |grep REMOTE REMOTEHOST= $ who am i user pts/5 2011-01-07 18:12 (:0.0) user@system:log $ env |grep SHELL SHELL=/bin/tcsh
-
Having it set to "" can break third party applications.
