JON agent reporting "call timed out" exception when checking availability of an JBoss AS resource

Issue

  • JON is showing intermittent down status for services even though services are up
  • Error similar to the below is seen in agent DEBUG logs:
    2011-01-24 07:30:54,206 DEBUG [InventoryManager.availability-1] (rhq.core.pc.inventory.AvailabilityExecutor)- Failed to collect availability on Resource[id=10631, type=JBossAS Server, key=/usr/jboss/jboss-as/server/all, name=servername:1099 all, parent=servername, version=5.0.2.GA_SOA] (call timed out)
    
  • We have configured the JBoss-ON to get emails when the deployed applications in JBoss EAP are not in Up state. Time to time we are getting some emails saying that some applications are in Down state whereas the application is UP.
