What options are available for upgrading a JBoss EAP instance to the latest CP?

Issue

  • Upgrading JBoss EAP to the most recent Cumulative Patch (CP)
  • What is the suggested approach to upgrade a running JBossEAP 4.3 installation to JBoss EAP 4.3 CPXX?
  • We want to write our own automated mechanism for patching if possible. This requires a a script or programm which is able to gather versions of all installed components, e.g. JBoss microcontainer, JBoss Web, Hibernate, etc. Is such a tool ready and we can use it?
  • I need some advice, Site personnel here run SAS 9.2, which uses jboss-4.2.0.GA, neither of which I know anything about. They propose to upgrade to jboss-4.2.3.GA. I have no idea how to apply the actual JBoss upgrade (although I have downloaded a .zip). I note that these products seem somewhat old. Is this something RH can help with, or should I be contacting SAS?
