Does Red Hat provide support for Intel's Haswell processors (following on from IvyBridge) in RHEL 6 mcelog?
Issue
- [FEAT] Request for Haswell client support in mcelog
- June 2013 edition of the Software Developers Manual provides the three cpuid model numbers for Haswell client (a.k.a. 4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) processor family and Intel Xeon processor E3-1200v3 product family). Add them so that we can decode without warning about unsupported model. Note that as usual these client parts have no model specific decoding.
- The customer would like to be able to use mcelog in RHEL 6 with all future Intel chip architectures.
- Request for Haswell client support in mcelog, as per http://git.kernel.org/cgit/utils/cpu/mce/mcelog.git/commit/?id=b842ecb44965722ecd67bed1ed9d900073e3313f
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- mcelog-1.0pre3_20120814_2-0.13.el6 onwards
