Why does the 'cman_tool version -r' and `ccs_sync` commands fails to propagate the modified cluster.conf file ?

Issue

  • cman_tool version -r command fails to propagate the modified /etc/cluster/cluster.conf file with the following message
# cman_tool version -r
Error: Unable to initialize the crypto subsystem.
cman_tool: ccs_sync failed.
If you have distributed the config file yourself, try re-running with -S
  • A ccs_sync failed to update the /etc/cluster/cluster.conf.
# ccs_sync -i -f /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
Error: Unable to initialize the crypto subsystem.
