When starting multiple nodes at the same time with fence_brocade as their fence device, unfencing fails on some of them in RHEL 6

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • If we start all the nodes at the same time, the cluster service couldn't be able to start because of the failed unfencing.
  • If we start cman service on multiple nodes like 4 at once, 1 or 2 of the nodes will start failed.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 with the Resilient Storage Add On
  • fence_brocade configured as the fencedevice agent for multiple nodes
    • Nodes have an unfence section referencing this device with action="enable"
