How to repair xfs/ext4 filesystem of root/system volume by interrupting initramfs boot in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7?
Issue
- The
/
filesystem isxfs
formatted and is corrupted, this isn't letting OS boot appropriately and landing up intodracut#
shell. - The
rescue
mode mounting to/mnt/sysimage
doesn't help as well, it hangs forever since themount
to/mnt/sysimage
goes intoD
State. - The
rescue
mode directly skip to shell option too doesn't help here since it too tries to mount the/
filesystem to/mnt/sysimage
somehow. - Is there any way to interrupt boot process and repair
/
filesystem during normal boot?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
