Why `parted` can't create `ext3, ext4, xfs` filesystem

Issue

  • parted can use mkfs partition fs-type to create a filesystem. The fs-type can be one of ext2 , fat16, fat32, linux-swap; why fs-type cann't be ext3, ext4, xfs ?
