How to compensate for large system clock drift by using the 'tickadj' command, to view and adjust the kernel tick value in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, similar to the 'adjtimex' command in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 ?

When the system clock has a drift larger than 500 ppm, it can be compensated only by changing the kernel tick value.

The adjtimex command, from the adjtimex package, which can be used for changing the kernel tick value, is unavailable in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

The tickadj, command from the ntp package, is available in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 for changing the kernel tick value.
