Why does the JBoss Web login form not refresh correctly after a successful login?

Issue

• When the user authenticates via the login page which uses j_security_check they are sometimes brought back to the login page even though the login was successful.  This should be going to the page that they requested.  If the user then reloads the page, the correct page is displayed.  This shows that the login was in fact successful.  It seems as if j_security_check is bringing them back to the login page incorrectly.  This never happens in IE and only sometimes happens using Firefox and Chrome.
