Why are Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization pool virtual machines ordered incorrectly when listed in the admin portal?

Issue

  • When a pool is created the initial VM names are created like:
PoolName-1
PoolName-2
...
  • However, the VM names generated with this algorithm don't order well when there are more than 9 VMs:
PoolName-1
PoolName-10
PoolName-2
PoolName-3
PoolName-4
PoolName-5
PoolName-6
PoolName-7
PoolName-8
PoolName-9
