How to enable support for AVX-512 with GCC
Issue
You can compile for the Knights Landing processor with any compiler that supports the AVX-512 instruction set. GCC begins support for AVX-512 with version 4.9. However, as of RHEL 7.7 we only ship version 4.8.5.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux v7.6 and higher
- Servers that support the Knights Landing (KNL): 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon Phi™ Processor
