Why iptables module is not unloading from kernel space, while doing iptables stop or restart?
Issue
- Even after following stop command, iptables modules still be listed in
lsmod.
service iptables stop
chkconfig iptables off

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- Any iptables version
