Listing Directory Contents Hangs For Up To A Minute

Issue

• Performing a long listing of a directory (ls -l) hangs for up to a minute.
• When the command finally completes, a group ownership of one or more items in the directory is shown as a group ID (GID) number instead of a name.

# cd /data/

# time ls -l
