The "rhnpush" command fails with "Error Class Code: 2" error, if the PAM or FreeIPA authentication is configured on the satellite server and SELinux in Enforcing mode.

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Get this error message, while trying to push an rpm into a custom channel, despite using the correct credentials:
Error Class Code: 2
Error Class Info: Invalid username and password combination.
Explanation:
An error has occurred while processing your request. If this problem
persists please enter a bug report at bugzilla.redhat.com.

If you choose to submit the bug report, please be sure to include
details of what you were trying to do when this error occurred and
details on how to reproduce this problem.
  • Users are authenticated via Active Directory and this was working before the upgrade. The AD users can login to the Satellite WebUI fine, so the PAM setup on the Satellite is correct.

Environment

  • Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite version 5.3, 5.4, 5.6
  • PAM authentication enabled on the Satellite
  • SELinux enabled, in Enforcing mode
