Issue

  • When attempting to access a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 CUPS server from a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 CUPS client I get errors:
    # lpstat -s
no system default destination
lpstat: get-classes failed: client-error-bad-request
lpstat: get-printers failed: client-error-bad-request

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Server (cups-1.4.2-35.el6)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Client (cups-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.32.el4_8.6)
