Detecting Hardware Error Handling difference between 2.6.18-308 and 2.6.18-348
Issue
- After updating the Kernel (2.6.18-348 or higher) from 2.6.18-308, the system has an error log:
ata1.01: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x4050000 action 0x0 frozen
ata1: SError: { PHYRdyChg CommWake DevExch }
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9
- kernel-2.6.18-348 or higher
- HP ML 110 G5 ( 2 SATA Drives) with an 82801IR/IO/IH (ICH9R/DO/DH) 4 port SATA Controller
