Satellite: Clients network interface type showing as e1000 when should be vmxnet3

Latest response

Hi,

I was looking at an issue with building a new virtual machine, and noticed that all the clients that have been built from Satellite (6.4), using Vmware compute integration are showing the wrong network interface type.

They all show up in Satellite as having an e1000 network interface type, despite vmxnet3 being selected as the interface type when doing the provisioning process.

I have confirmed in Vcentre that the virtual servers have been deployed with a vmxnet3 interface type, and that the guests are running the correct driver.

lspci | grep -i net

0b:00.0 Ethernet controller: VMware VMXNET3 Ethernet Controller (rev 01)

I have tried restarting Satellite and checking for any errors in system logs, but have found nothing, can anyone shine some light on why this is occurring? is it expected behavior?
