QLogic 10Gb CNA drops network and causes system reset during sosreport when ethtool -d runs

Issue

  • Running ethtool -d on a QLogic CNA NIC using the qlge module causes network stall and/or ql2xxx Fibrechannel half of CNA to lock up.
  • Running sosreport, with the "Networking" plug-in enabled, causes network stall and/or ql2xxx FC half of CNA to lock up.
  • Running sosreport or ethtool -d on a system with QLogic CNA NIC can cause loss of access and fence induced restart.
  • Running sosreport or ethtool -d on a system with a QLogic CNA NIC can cause loss of access to Fibrechannel storage, causing system reset.
  • QLogic CNA firmware 7.01.00, 7.02.00, 7.03.00
