Did the mpath friendly names change from numeric to alpha in Red Hat Enterprise 6?
Issue
- Why are my device-mapper-multipath names ending in alpha character instead of numeric: mpatha, mpathb1
- /dev/mapper/mpathX , were X is a,b instead of 1,2
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6+
- user_friendly_names enabled in /etc/multipath.conf
