Why does Red Hat Enterprise Linux system kernel panic happen immediately after second reboot on VMWare hypervisor?

Issue

• After installing the new kernel, rebooted the machine with the newly installed kernel, system boots fine. Post next reboot, kernel panics with generic message. Why does the system face this kernel panic on second reboot onward, first boot works though. Removing and reinstalling this kernel works again! But the problem repeats itself.
