RHEL 4 system gives error "mptscsi: ioc0: attempting task abort!"

Issue

  • A RHEL 4.4 guest  running on ESX 4.0.2 gives error pertaining to mptscsi and mptbase in dmesg log:

  • In the past this system has gone in read-only mode. Reboot temporary solved the problem. Does the above messages report a  system problem?
