How to resolve errors "Ensure connectorPort and/or connectorAddress are configured!" in Apache Tomcat 9 which initiates modcluster to not join with Apache HTTPD ?

Issue

  • Tomcat is not able to start properly. From the Tomcat 9 logs, it is seen:
SEVERE [ContainerBackgroundProcessor[StandardEngine[Catalina]]] org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase$ContainerBackgroundProcessor.processChildren Exception invoking periodic operation: 
 java.lang.RuntimeException: MODCLUSTER000048: Multiple connectors match specified host:port (*:*)! Ensure connectorPort and/or connectorAddress are configured.

  • JBoss Enterprise Web Server 5.0.0
    • mod_cluster 1.4.0
