The configuration changed on an active guest domain doesn't take effect in certain case.

Issue

  • When the configuration is changed on an active guest domain, virt-manager  reports the following message.

    Some changes may require a guest reboot to take effect

  • Then, the configuration doesn't take effect even if "shutdown -r" is run on  the guest OS.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

  • Architecture: x86_64

  • KVM
