- NPIV I/O hangs when a single path fails in multipath
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 (RHEL 5.5) installed on a multipath device
- IBM Power Systems Power 6- or Power 7- based system
- System is partitioned using VIOS
- NPIV capable adapter (8Gb FC adapter)
- Multipath configuration to one or more SAN targets connected via NPIV using dm-multipath
- NPIV FC adapter is assigned to VIOS and has ports configured and assigned to one or more Linux LPARs
fast_io_fail_tmoon the FC rports set to 5 seconds
